Locality: United States, California, San Diego County, Loveland Reservoir (land owned by the Sweetwater River Valley Authority): S of Alpine, S of Japatul Valley Road and E of it junction with Dehsa Rd.; NE end of lake near the trail from the Fishing Access parking lot.

Habitat: Oak woodland/Chaparral. Mostly granite with some reddish clays.
Associated Species: Quercus agrifolia, Salix laevigata, Toxicodendrom diversilobum, Artemisia california, Plantanus racemosa, and Ceanothus tomentosus.
Description: Shrub to 4 m tall, flowers bluish-purple; common.
Phenology: Flowering
