Locality: United States, Arizona, Pima County, Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Small drainage with caliche base in the foothills of the Puerto Blanco Mountains, near the end of the 2-way section of the North Puerto Blanco Drive (about 5 miles from the Visitor Center).

Habitat: Sonoran Desertscrub.
Associated Species: Olneya tesota, Acacia gregii, Larrea tridentata, Lycium parishii (in fl), Bahiopsis, Brickellia coulteri.
Description: Shrub about 1 m tall. Uncommon in the foothills but a dominant plant upstream on the steep tuff slopes of Pinkley Peak.
